Job Description

According to the National Honors Society handbook the Honor Society Advisor promotes activities, stimulates positive actions by its members, provides information on activities and maintains chapter records.  It also states that the advisor ensures proper procedures are being followed, attends all meetings and functions, as well as advocates for the interest of the students.  This position in the Royal School District, along with the above mentioned responsibilities, coodinates and manages concession stands for all home football and basketball games along with two wrestling tournaments.

 

Other responsibilities are as follows:

  • Compose letters to new and returning members at beginning of year
  • Arrange community service opportunities
  • Have monthly meetings with students
  • Order product and arrange for delivery or pick up
  • Organize product in the stands, set prices, make menus
  • Put up and organize sign up sheets for each game
  • Keep sign up sheets in case of discrepancies
  • Keep track of students hours worked
  • Keep a running total of points posted for students
  • Keep a year to year total of all students points
  • Set up stand: collect money box, start food, wipe down concession
  • Man the concession with the students
  • Make runs to the store as needed
  • Maintain a food handlers card
  • Check for food safety throughout concessions
  • Close consessions: store food properly, check refrigerator temp, supervise count of leftover product, fill out count sheet, clean stand, count money, fill out balance sheet
  • Maintain money records
  • Complete end of year cleaning on both concession stands
  • Use points and money earned to determine the amount of scholarship the students receive
  • Make awards for all members
  • Attend Honors Night
  • Meet with students upon their request, answer questions and encourage the students
  • Maintain a professional working relationship with the students
  • Work collaboratively with the principal, secretary, vendors and parents
  • Other duties as necessary

Terms of Employment

Starting Date:  2020-21 School Year

Salary:  Per 20-21 Extra Curricular Salary Schedule
